This guide is for the official SheetOps add-on. Install it to manage Google Workspace at spreadsheet speed.
Allocating subscription licenses to hundreds of newly onboarded employees or student cohorts in the Google Admin Console is tedious, while CSV uploads frequently reject cryptic SKU codes. SheetOps lets Google Workspace administrators assign licenses in bulk directly from Google Sheets using friendly SKU names and instant validation.
Google Workspace uses the Enterprise License Manager API to manage subscription seats. Every user account requires an active product and SKU license assignment (such as Google Workspace Enterprise Plus, Business Standard, or Cloud Identity Free) to access services.
SheetOps maps human-readable SKU names directly to underlying Google Product IDs (Google-Apps, 101031, 101033) and SKU IDs (1010310008, 1010310002, 1010330003), automatically inserting license records when rows are verified.
| Operational Aspect | Admin Console CSV | GAM CLI | SheetOps |
|---|---|---|---|
| SKU Identifier Input | Requires cryptic internal SKU codes | Requires command flags with raw SKU IDs | Human-readable dropdown selection |
| Batch Creation Workflow | Upload CSV file and wait for email report | Terminal batch loop execution | Instant spreadsheet sync with visual diffs |
| Error Feedback | Generic CSV error download file | CLI stderr text | Inline row-by-row cell status logging |
| Cross-Product Support | Separate CSV format per product | Multi-command syntax per product | Workspace, Cloud Identity & Chrome in one view |
